The case of the missing bottles...
Owen has finally started sleeping from 9pm to at least 5 am! (Might stir around a bit once or twice a night.) Since walking down the stairs half a sleep is not very fun; we still fill two bottles with water and fill a formula dispenser just in case we would need it at night and then when he needs a bottle in the morning. Justin usually gets everything ready at night and sets them on the stairs. One night we were ready to go upstairs and the bottles and dispenser were gone...and so was Kendall. We went upstairs to find Kendall setting the bottles and dispenser on Owen's dresser! The next night same thing. This now has been going on for weeks (we have never asked her to do it). She has her moments of being too rough with Owen but there are so many sweet things she does for Owen and our family.

I used a fun photo finish with my photo editor
This is how they are with each other most of the time! So silly.
But they can calm down for a few pics
She loves to talk and he loves to listen!
what is Daddy doing?
I am usually a happy guy if fed every 90 mintues!
He now fights back!

To keep or not to keep...
When Owen was about 2 months old we hire someone to clean our house. It was worth it for those transitional months but now I have been going back and forth on getting rid of our cleaning service. It is expensive and I feel like I can handle some of the work during the week now. Today Kendall noticed one of the vents near our ceiling was dusty and said mommy that is dirty; I said oh we are going to clean that right now and she said yeah Angie will clean it. Wow not at all what I want to teach my child. I think I will keep her for a few more months and that will be it.

Owen's 6 month check-up
Owen turned 6 months December 18th! Due to fussy baby after shots at the 4 month check up I did not stop to schedule his 6 month check up so when I called in later they could not get him in until today 1-4-2011. So here are his stats 16 pounds 2 ounces (16th %) 28.5 inches long (94th %). We talked about sleep with the dr. but she said we were doing all the right things. He is not interested in drinking bottles much anymore and so she thought that he probably really is hungry in the night. She suggested a sippy cup when we feed him his baby food to get more calories in him. First attempt today went okay, he got a great big smile on his face when I gave it to him (he has loved Kendall's cups so he knew what to do). He did not get a lot but did good for the first time. Can't believe how big he seems holding a sippy cup!
Some of the fun things Owen does at 6 months:
-Is a big talker
-Laughs and smiles a bunch
-reacts to sounds
-turns to see what is going on especially with Kendall
-says dada and for the first time today mom!
-responds to name
-plays with toys like crazy (loves to bang and hit with toys)
-sits up for short periods of time
-the dr. thinks he will be crawling within the month (not ready for that!)
-loves his baby food
Owen is such a fun, happy baby! I feel so blessed to have him as my son.

New Years Eve
Max, Mel, Kendall, and Cole

Christmas Cookies
This is the first year Kendall put cookies out for santa. I baked a few sugar cookies for Kendall and her cousins Maycie and Brady to decorate on christmas eve. For some reason I did not get any pictures of the finished product but here are a few of them decorating.
That night Kendall selected two of her favorite cookies for Santa and set them out on her "cookies for santa" plate. We asked her if she wanted to leave him a drink too and she thought that orange juice would be perfect! The next morning she came downstairs to find her cookies mostly eaten and the glass of OJ all gone; Santa must have enjoyed the goodies! She had a huge grin on her face.
